St. Mary's Outpatient Rehabilitation Center is located just off Ga. 316 near the Athens Perimeter at The Exchange, 2470 Daniells Bridge Road, Athens.

St. Mary’s Rehabilitative Services is committed to improving quality of life by reducing pain and maximizing the functionality of patients with disabilities or physical injuries through comprehensive, individualized care. 

The highly trained St. Mary’s rehabilitative staff work with patients to evaluate, assess pain levels, and create, implement and track progress of personalized therapy plans. Plans may include an educational component and physical, occupational or speech-language therapy. 

Rehabilitative services require a physician’s referral. 

Typical diagnoses referred to St. Mary’s Rehabilitative Services include:

  • Joint replacements
  • Spinal disorders
  • Stroke
  • Neurological disorders (Parkinson’s disease, brain injuries)
  • Developmental disorders
  • General orthopedic disorders (sprains, fractures, surgical repairs)
  • General medical conditions with motor deficits
  • Wound care
  • Incontinence/pelvic pain

Physical Therapy
St. Mary’s physical therapy helps any patient, from birth to older adult, with functional mobility and/or soft tissue pain limitation. This department, which abides by American Physical Therapy Association standards, offers modalities including therapeutic exercise to reduce pain and improve functionality.

St. Mary’s licensed or accredited physical therapists use special programs to help patients progress, including vestibular rehabilitation to regain balance and wound care.

Occupational Therapy
Therapists work closely with patients to educate, maximize independence, maintain health and obtain adaptive equipment necessary to help with everyday skills. 

Speech-Language Pathology
St. Mary’s specialized, licensed speech language pathologists help patients from pediatrics to geriatrics, regain and improve communication and swallowing skills. Using a variety of oral-neuromuscular and cognitive-linguistic treatments, pathologists treat aphasia, articulation, voice disorders, stuttering and swallowing disorders.
